Percussion: Week of March 24 - 30
Welcome to Cycle 4! I hope everyone enjoyed a restful and enjoyable Spring Break.
This cycle is a big one, UIL is only a few weeks away, the cluster percussion concert is in a month, and then we will turn our attention to marching band prep.
This cycle will close the year off with many performances and celebrations. We should all be looking forward to our final weeks of the year.

Supplies
Please make sure you bring concert snare sticks and a practice pad to band class every day.
1 box of tissues per student is requested. One has observed this request, many more have used the tissues.
Pre-UIL Performances at Rowlett HS and Lakeview Centennial HS, March 26-27
This week, our bands will participate in the Garland ISD Pre-UIL adjudication. These performances will replicate the UIL Concert and Sightreading Festival process and provide our groups valuable feedback ahead of our UIL performances.
Please take a look at the details for these events found on the band newsletter and Events section of this website. Symphonic Band performs on Wednesday and Wind Ensemble will be on Thursday.
Drumline Performances on Friday, March 28 and Tuesday, April 1
We have 2 upcoming performances for the drumline. We are participating for the Spring Sterling Stars Activity Period show and an upcoming send-off.
We are performing on Friday, March 28th for the Sterling Stars Activity Period performance. We will perform a selection of cadences as we “march” around the auditorium.
We are also performing on Tuesday, April 1 for the Skills USA send-off at the GRCTC during B6 (first period). Please let me know if you are not already in this class and want to participate in this send-off.
Attire for both performances is to wear a Naaman Forest band/drumline shirt, jacket or sweater.
Rehearsal Schedule for the Week
Wind Ensemble will rehearse only on Monday from 3:30-5:30. Symphonic Band will meet on Tuesday from 3:30-5:30. Please continue to stay aware of communications from Mr. Falls and Mr. Choi for rehearsal plans.
There will be no rehearsals for Jazz Ensemble or Percussion Ensemble this week.
