Congratulations on a strong end to our marching season! Y’all represented yourselves well yesterday. Now we look forward to concert season and solos.

Below is the weekly overview for the upcoming week.

Cycle 2, Week 4 (A Week) Nov. 11-17

Monday
- Wind Ensemble from 3:30-5:30 - WINDS ONLY, Percussion is not required to attend, but may if desired.
Tuesday
- Symphonic Band from 3:30-5:30
- Beginner Percussion Pad Camp is canceled and will be held during A4 class time at a later date
Wednesday
- Jazz Band Rehearsal - 3:15-4:45
Thursday
- Wind Ensemble Rehearsal from 3:30-5:30 - All members required
Friday (A Day)
- Hallway Pep Rally during Ranger Connect
- Playoff football game in Longview from 3:15- 1:00am
Saturday
- Freshmen All-Region Auditions - No percussionists are attending
Sunday
- Free

Football Game: Longview

Winter Concert Percussion Sections (Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band)

With only a handful of weeks left in the semester and 1 holiday concert in December, the percussion sections for our two concert bands has. been determined on what provides a logical division of parts and rehearsal expectations. The sections are setup with everyone receiving great parts to great musical selections and at this time, both bands are on an equal level from a percussion standpoint.

For the Winter Concert - Front Ensemble students will be in Symphonic Band, Battery Percussion (A1 Band Class) will be in Wind Ensemble.

In December, there will be an audition to determine our sections for the Spring Semester.

Supplies

With the shift in class routines, please make sure you begin to bring concert snare sticks and a practice pad to band class every day.

1 box of tissues are also requested as we transition to colder winter months.

Drumline Jersey Order

Please make payments for jerseys this week. Pay for as much as you can when you can, at least one payment each month.

Please make payments for jersey’s through the following process:

1) Each jersey is $55. You can provide payment in 1 payment of the full amount owed, 2 payments ($30 and $25 for one jersey), or 3 equal payments over three months.

2) Provide payments to the band boosters. Click HERE for instructions and different payment options.

3) If paying digitally, include a note that the payment is for jerseys and the student’s name. Send a screenshot with the payment confirmation to ncollins@garlandisd.net

4) Please pay for what you can as soon as you can. All jerseys should be paid in full before Friday, November 22.

As of this update, most have not provided full payment for their jersey. Please make preparations to pay in full before the Thanksgiving break.
